For those of you unfamiliar with pyrography, it is the art of woodburning. To simplify it, it is a pen that heats up. Some of the cheaper woodburners look like a soldering iron. The more expensive ones look a bit different, but do the same general thing. The trick is the shadowing. Just like drawing with a pencil or other instrument, shadowing and dimensions are the trick. However, with woodburning, you have to get it right the first time, because you cannot erase it!
Wooded cabin
This is a burning I did back in December 2007.
Baby foot
I did this burning with a technique called pointillism. This is when the entire picture is made entirely with dots.
My daughter
I made this for my wife on Mother's Day. The picture on the left I did using an actual picture of my daughter holding my thumb. I then put in the flower on the right. I have the paper on there to cover up my daughter's name. Unfortunately in today's world, I do not want to put my daughter's name on the internet.
Walnut clock
I found this piece of walnut in a scrap bin. The top left was broken off, and I thought that created a really interesting accent. I burnt the picture of the birds on it, and then turned it into a clock.
Fireman
Another picture I did of a fireman. Used a cheap $20 wood burner for this one.
Old Fireman
Different style fireman. I entered this piece in a woodworking contest and won 1st place and Best in Class.
Old car
I entered this piece into the same woodworking contest as the above piece. I received 2nd place for this burning.
Dream catcher
I really like this Indian design. However, this is the one and only time I will do a burning on pine. It is difficult to work with.
Deer in woods
I saw this picture, and I liked it.
Deer
Another dear picture I did.
Guardians of the night
I did this for a friend of mine. His name was Darnell and he was an Air Force Security Forces (military police) K-9 handler. He passed away from cancer at a young age of 39. I created this for him (and his family). The words, which I know you cannot see in this small picture, are a poem called Guardians of the night. Do a Google search and read it, you will get choked up...

Masons
I did this one for a friend of mine that is a Free Mason.
